Shrimp Skewers with Lemon and Garlic

Shrimp skewers are one of my favorite things. You can season them pretty well in a decent amount of time, they cook in the blink of an eye, and they’re a light healthy meal you can enjoy guilt free. For this recipe I used the following ingredients to taste.

I used two slices of lemon, 1/4 bunch of parsley, 3 cloves of garlic, a pinch of sea salt and a pinch of black pepper, a tablespoon of olive oil and a tablespoon of white balsamic.

I only used 6 medium sized shrimp because I was eating this with a steak, but I recommend 6-10 shrimp of this size for one person. Shrimp skewers are the easiest recipe you can think of, because you put them on a stick and let them go!

Next, you add all of your ingredients into the bowl and mix! I used my hands of course.

Make sure you coat the shrimp well with the olive oil so it doesn’t stick to your grill or grill pan. You can also brush a little olive oil onto your grill/grill pan just to be sure. But wait until your pan is nice and hot before you do so.Shrimp Ingredients Added Close upPreheat your grill to 425, or if you’re using an indoor grill pan like I did…turn your heat up to high and heat until it starts to smoke.

Place your shrimp skewers onto the cook surface with the ends of the skewers hanging off so they don’t catch fire or get so hot they burn your hand! Cook about 1-2 minutes each side. You can either remove the shrimp from the skewers or eat them directly off of the skewer! It’s completely up to you! I like removing them from the skewer and mixing them into rice or pasta because grilled shrimp literally makes everything better.

And you’re done. Top with some fresh parsley, cilantro and green onions and enjoy to your heart’s content. As simple as that.

  • - 6 medium sized shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • - 2 slices of lemon
  • - 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • - 1 tablespoon white balsamic
  • - 3 cloves garlic minced
  • - 1/4 bunch parsley chopped
  • - Sea salt to taste
  • - Pepper to taste
  • - Wooden bamboo skewers
  • - Gas grill or grill pan


  1. Peel and devein your shrimp if necessary, place in a bowl for mixing.
  2. Add your ingredients to your shrimp and use your hands to combine.
  3. Let sit for a minute or two and slide your shrimp onto the skewers. I like to go through the bottom of the tail and the top for more security.
  4. Heat your grill to 425 or your grill pan to the highest heat until it starts to smoke.
  5. Add your skewers to the heated grill or grill pan with the ends of the skewers hanging off so they don't burn.
  6. Cook for about 2-3 minutes each side.
  7. Slide off, or bite directly off the skewer, sprinkle with fresh parsley and enjoy!
