Summer Recipe Round Up 2018

Summer Recipe Round Up

One thing that truly makes me happy amidst my emotional growth is COOKING! Whether it be for myself, or for other people (I definitely love cooking for others more than myself), it is really something that gets me out of my head, working with my hands, and creating an edible work of art! One of my all time favorite things to cook – is an amazing summer recipe. Since it’s summertime I wanted to share some of my FAVORITE summer recipes with all of you. Check them out and make them for your next BBQ!

Summer Recipe #2: BBQ Pork Loin Back Ribs

The finished pork loin back ribs BBQ'd to perfection and paired with a deliciously healthy avocado potato salad! | The Babbling Brooke | @babblingbmarie

These ribs have quite literally been my favorite thing to bring to a BBQ for YEARS. Yes, I will admit they are time consuming, but you cannot have cook out without grilling! Check out the spicy BBQ sauce recipe to add all the flava to this wonderful recipe.

Summer Recipe #2: Spicy BBQ Sauce

This BBQ sauce has a smoky, spicy kick to it – which I love and will forever love. Use this BBQ sauce for your ribs, chicken, steak…really for anything you could ever want this summer.

Summer Recipe #3: Grilled Cilantro Lime Chicken

As you all know, I’m all about being healthy. Although it’s not always lean chicken breasts and grilled veggies – sometimes it just has to be ribs slathered in sugary BBQ sauce. Cause ya know, everything in moderation! I will go the healthier route from time to time, and this is one of my favorite recipes to do so. It’s tasty, super simple to make, and a good addition to any grill out. You can also substitute chicken thighs if you have a hard time cooking the breasts to perfection. You definitely don’t want any dry chicken!

Summer Recipe #4: Skirt Steak Tacos

Taco 3

This is a really fun recipe for a cookout. Not only is the grilled skirt steak delicious, but you can make a DIY bar for people to build their tacos exactly how they’d like them! This is my “guilt free” version, meaning I subbed out the tortilla for some romaine lettuce – but feel free to sub em back in! Set out homemade guacamole (recipe here!), cheese, sauteed onions, homemade salsa (recipe here!), and more!

Summer Recipe #5: Homemade Guacamole

Guacamole, chips, and salsa are a staple at any get together. So really, I don’t really need to say much more than that! I will say, however, that this is the best recipe out there 😉

Summer Recipe #6: Fresh Homemade Salsa

Salsa Finished 960

This homemade salsa has mostly fresh ingredients. So if you’re a raw vegan – this is a good recipe for you! Not cooking the vegetables really gives this recipe a fresh, vibrant, refreshing feel to it.

Summer Recipe #7: Mango Avocado Salsa

Chicken Salad Mango Salsa done

This salsa was a part of a chicken salad recipe that could also be an addition to the pile up!

Summer Recipe #8: Chili Lime Coleslaw

Slaw done 2

This coleslaw is light and refreshing and not loaded up with mayonnaise. Since it’s made mostly with lime juice, it’s perfect as a vegetable side dish for a heavier main course – like BBQ ribs!

Summer Recipe #9: Chipotle Lobster Rolls

Lobster with cole slaw (1)

These chipotle lobster rolls feature the coleslaw from number 8. They’re fresh and delicious, and you can grill the lobster for an even more flavorful treat.

Summer Recipe #10: Ginger Mint, Lemon, Limeade

Ginger mint lemonade

Last but not least, the ginger, mint, lemon, limeade. I’m a huge fan of ginger because it is such a super food – so having a refreshing drink (that you could easily add liquor to if you’d like) to balance out the heaviness of BBQ foods, is the best thing ever! You can even add seltzer water to it to give it a spritzer feel.

So there you have it! 10 delicious summer recipes for you to impress yourself, and your guests. So get out there, enjoy, and if you DO happen to make one of these recipes, be sure to shoot me a DM on instagram and I’ll post your stuff!

  1. Today, while I was at work, my sister stole my iPad and tested to see if it can survive a 40 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share it with someone!
